Rincón de la Vieja National Park
The volcano park closest to Liberia, with trails, fumaroles and bubbling mud pots. From our café to the Las Pailas sector it is 41 minutes to an hour by car (29 to 31 km), depending on the road Google Maps chooses.
Check the park's opening hours and ticket rules before you go, and leave early: it is a half-day plan.
Llanos de Cortés waterfall
A wide waterfall south of Liberia, on the way to Bagaces: 21 minutes and 23.4 km from our café on the Inter-American Highway (Route 1).
